Perception Nail Laquer: Wicked and Starry Night

Through joining nail polish groups on facebook I have met some wonderful people. And some wonderful indie polish makers. I am very lucky to know a few ladies who make stunning polish... And these two are no exception...
I bought Wicked and Starry Night from the lovely Amy of Perception Nail Lacquer. I was so excited to get Wicked because it was a dark holo, which is something I cannot resist! And Starry Night looked like it would be pretty nice too.
After the evil U.S to Aus postage wait, they arrived. I was faced with another surprise... Starry Night was more than "pretty nice"... It was/is GORGEOUS. And when I say gorgeous, I mean.... Mind blowingly gorgeous. It has become one of my favorite polishes.

And here is why:

A gorgeous deep blue base with silver hex... But there is more. There is teeny tiny silver glitters too. and what makes it TRULY gorgeous is that when you step out into the sun, some of the smaller glitters show their true colors... Literally.

This is as close as my camera would get to capturing it. There is a rainbow of color in there which I just could not photograph at the time!

I am beyond in love with this polish. The color is gorgeous, the glitters are stunning... And the application was fantastic! I cannot rave about this enough.

And now for Wicked... I struggle to find the words to describe it... So I will start with the pictures.
A beautiful deep red. The sun would not be nice, so I could not get a shot of the AMAZINGNESS on the nail...

So I did bottle shots... Look at those colors!!!!!!!

*Sigh*
Another one that is easy to apply.
With or without visible holo, this is gorgeous. Seriously.

And as a bonus to the polish being so gorgeous, Amy is lovely. She is a dream to buy from.

Rainbow Honey: The Worst Possible Thing

A few weeks ago I very excitedly bought 2 polishes from Rainbow Honey. i had been dreaming of having Mare Of The Moon since I first saw it. I also Decided to buy The Worst Possible Thing.
Then came the wait... Postage from the U.S to Australia seems to take 9-10 days... Realistically that is not long, but for someone with no patience, it is torture!!!
They got here, and I almost cried with excitement! My pretty moons were in my hands!!

Now to be completely honest... Mare Of The Moon was a little disappointing. Nowhere near as pretty as I had hoped. But there was a wonderful surprise... The Worst Possible Thing was/is GORGEOUS!!!!

My first thought was to layer it over dark colors... Black mainly...
And here she is, in all of her sparkly, amazing glory!!

The colors... Ohhh the colors! When they catch the sun it is like a pretty polish disco ball!

Are there any Rainbow Honey fans out there?

Galaxy tutorial

A little while go someone asked me if I could do a step by step of my galaxies. Having never done one before, I decided to go for it!!!!
I hope this helps someone!

This is what I used. Sally Hansen - Spark, BYS white nail art, BYS - Sunshine, Random pink I mixed aaages ago, Borghese - Violetto, NYS Colour - Rhythm n Blues and Sally Hansen InstaDri.

Paint nails black or very dark blue. I went with Spark because it is a dark blue with a purple shimmer.

I use these sponges. Some people choose to use smaller ones.

Sponge on some white for your "nebula."
Don't worry about being too neat.

Sponge your first colour over the white in random places.

Add the rest of your colours the same way...

Add some medium blue around the edges to blend it into the background a little, then take a toothpick and white polish and add random small dots, and a few bigger ones, for stars.

You can add glitter polish for extra sparkle. I choose not to.

Add top coat and you are done. It is that easy!!!

And here is my first attempt!
And my 2nd :)

What are your thoughts on galaxy nails? Fantastic or fail?

Old pictures

Hi there.
So this my new, pretty blog.
This post will be just for old pictures that I don't have details for anymore.
I will hopefully have a proper post coming up soon!!

My first try and a city scape.

Pretty flowers but my camera wouldn't play nice.

My attempt at Kill Bill inspired nails for the 5678's... Please note I have never seen Kill Bill!

Owl attempt. I actually LOVED this.

Pretty Slime (yup, that is it's name) topped with Rainbow Honey, The Worst Possible Thing.

Sunflowers after watching Dr Who, with Van Gogh, and crying my eyes out.

I will attempt to get some better posts up later today.
Until then, be well :)
